Dallul East African Cuisine

Dallul East African Cuisine was visited on 12-15-12.

Service:
As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a warm staff member, and were taken to a cute little hut-like structure, and were seated. Our food came quite quickly and was delicious.

Food:

We ordered the vegetarian combo. It came with injera (a fermented yeast risen bread), mesir wot (lentil stew), berbere ( a lentil base used in many stews), cabbage, and salad. The injera was light and fluffy and had a pleasant tangy-ness.The mesir wot was thick and had a moist, meaty flavor. The cabbage was nutty and was really thick. The collard greens weren't bitter like usual, but they were rather sweet.

Price:

The price was $25 for a beer, 3 waters, and one vegetarian combo. It was really reasonable.

Overall:

I would definitely recommend Dallul. This restaurant got an 90% because their decor was very dull. Now, I don't really pay attention to the decor, but there were barely any lights. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants to break out of there normal fast food routine!

Mon-Sun 11 AM to 11 PM.

Simply Fondue

Simply Fondue was visited on 12-01-12

Service:
We had 2 waiters. They were both funny and friendly. It was my friend's birthday so  she got a complimentary beverage, and they gave her 4 refills!

Food:
Our first course was the cheese fondue. We got 3: the Blue Tomato, the Spicy Pepper jack ,and the Sharp Cheddar. It comes with vegetables and breads. The blue tomato was like a pizza in a bowl.It was really good. The sharp cheddar was a little monotonous and the spicy pepper jack was a bit one-note too. After the cheese, there was the oil.You get a platter with squash, zucchini, potatoes, mushrooms, beef, shrimp, chicken, cheese ravioli, broccoli cheese bites, eggplant, and sweet potatoes. It also came with various dipping sauces like: horseradish, Thai peanut sauce, honey mustard, and many more. If you wanted stuffed mushrooms, you could stuff them with chive sour cream filling and coat it with sesame batter. And then there was dessert, which included milk chocolate and marshmallows, strawberries, pineapple, bananas, pound cake, and  brownies. The flavors weren't too sweet. The chocolate just melted in your mouth and it had a great texture contrast.

Price:

I don't know the exact price, since I was treated for my friend's birthday.

Overall:
The food was delicious and the service was incredible. I definitely will go there again.Simply fondue got an 96%,so an A+.There was something missing, but I don't know what.
