Joe Taco Mexi-Cafe

Joe Taco Mexi-Cafe was visited on 11-23-12
(Sorry this is kind of late, alot of homework!)

Service:
The waitresses seemed like they wanted to serve us,and were friendly to us.

Food:
The food was light,oil-free,and not to cheesy.I ordered the stuffed avocados with spinach, mushrooms, and covered in a poblano sour cream sauce. The flavors went well with each other, and the cream sauce was delicious. The grilled chicken enchilada with the caliente sauce was spicy and had a wonderful balance. The veggie enchiladas with the rojo sauce was incredible, and the flavors "mingled",if you will.

Price:
The price $40 for 3 people. It was extremely worth it.If you are used to your regular Taco Bell, you should definitely try it out.

Overall:
One word: Delicious!! I have one criticism, though. There aren't any drinks available. Its just water.
I would give it a 98%.That's pretty good, don't you think?

Best Thai Restaurant

Best Thai Restaurant was visited on 11-21-12

Service:
The waitress was very nice. She clarified our order with us a few times to make sure that it was okay. She was really friendly and we liked her.

Food:
We ordered the curry jae,pad thai, and cashew with vegetables.
The curry jae is similar to a red curry, but has more vegetables than your run-of -the-mill thai curries, which only consists of potatoes and onions. It was really light for the amount of coconut milk. The cashew with vegetables was flavorful and had a perfect kick to it!The pad thai had a perfect combo of crispy tofu and soft noodles, but not mushy. They truly mastered Thai food!!

Price:
The price was extremely reasonable for 3 people. For the whole thing,we paid $30 for 3 entrees and 3 waters.

Overall:
Congratulations Best Thai, you are the first restaurant to earn a 100%!!!(Imaginary applause). You do deserve the name Best Thai.I'll recommend it to any one.

Random but Important

Hey all you viewers out there,
I just went to Costco and bought the Good Eats book 1 and 2,and it is AWESOME!!!!
Today for dinner,I made the Cracker-Noodle-Do.
Here is the recipe:
  • Cook pasta as you normally would, say spaghetti.
  • After the pasta's cooked, drain, but do NOT rinse.
  • After you drain the pasta, melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a 10-inch skillet.
  • Crumble a handful of saltines or other crackers when the butter is melted.
  • Saute the crackers until golden brown,3-4 mins.
  • When sauteed, toss in the pasta.
  • Add in fresh ground black pepper, salt, and some fresh parsley.
  • Devour, and think about the contrast between the noodles and the crackers.
Voila, you have a great, easy weeknight dinner that can please anyone!!

Outta the Oven Cafe

Outta the Oven Cafe was visited on 11-17-12

Service:
The waitresses were friendly, but when they were asked to warm up something for 5 seconds, she warmed it up for 1 minute! You're not supposed to warm up pie for that long.

Food:
We ordered the Tollhouse Pie,the Pecan Pie,and a carrot cupcake. The tollhouse pie was really chocolaty, but was kind of hard to cut.The pecan pie was not to sweet and the crust was really crispy.Their carrot cake w/ cream cheese frosting was really moist.Their frosting was at the perfect consistency, but was reeeeally sweet!

Price:
In all of their menu items, the price is $3.95 for everything.I think that's not really reasonable, but the food was good, nevertheless.

Overall:
I think that this cafe would get a 80% so basically,a B.
They definitely can improve their service.

Panera Bread

Panera Bread was visited on 11-11-12

Service:
In Panera Bread, after you order you choose your seat. The waiters are friendly but,its really forced.

Food:
The tomato and mozzarella panini on ciabatta with the creamy tomato soup.Overall the flavors were good, but nothing too special. The mediterranean sandwich was good too,but the flavors were really subtle. But of course their soup was delicious, even though it was laden with cream!

Pricing:The price was expensive, and I wouldn't exactly say it was worth it.For 2 entrees and 2 waters,it was $18.Its not too bad,but could have been a lot cheaper.

Overall:
Panera bread is more of a bakery than it is a restaurant. It deserves a 92%,which isn't that bad,but could do better.

King Tut's Egyptian Restaurant

Hey guys,check out this review:

King Tut Egyptian Restaurant was visited on 11-02-12

Service:

The waitresses were very nice and friendly. They asked us what we wanted and weren't too scared to ask for feedback. Our food came quite quickly and they were OK with additional requests. The owner came and chatted with us.

Food:
The King Tut salad was light and crunchy, not too soggy with dressing. I ordered the mixed Scabeg sauce with eggplant, zucchini, and okra. It also came with a side of rice, and pickles. There was a medley of great flavors in the Scabeg, similar to an Indian bhindi masala. The veggie shawarma was delicious and loaded with eggplant, bell pepper, tomatoes and much more. The falafel eggplant sandwich was a perfect balance of texture with the crunchy falafel and the creamy eggplant. Their cucumber or tzatziki sauce was just bliss. (No exaggeration!!) Let’s not forget about the baklava. Their walnut baklava is just this sticky unbelievable creation. It’s not overwhelmingly sweet, but rather subtle. My personal favorite is the pistachio baklava. Yummy!

Pricing:
The price is reasonable for the service and food quality. I guess this is what “service with a smile” really means. We ended up paying $ 50 for dinner, but totally worth it. If there is one thing that can be improved, I think it’s the portion size. It’s a little big for my preference.

Overall:
It’s an amazing restaurant that gets a 98% rating, or A+. If you are an extremely picky eater, you’re sure to find something that you like.

Salsa Fuego review

Hey, hey! Welcome to a food blog from an 11 year-old’s perspective. In this blog, you will hear about all the restaurants that I eat at.

Salsa Fuego was visited on 10-26-12
Service:

As soon as we walked in, the server told us how long the wait was. Once we got to our table, the servers didn't ask us if we wanted any chips or not. After we got our orders taken, she presented us with the silverware. One of the forks was dirty, and was asked for another one. The fork wasn't switched out until we got our food. We had to wait 45 minutes for 3 entrees  After the entrees were eaten, she presented us with the bill, and didn't even ask for dessert. Flan is near and dear to my heart, and so I was very disappointed.

Food:

The food was very good. I ordered the vegetarian chimichanga. It could have been a little lighter in the cheese sauce. The main aspect that was my favorite was their cilantro oil. Their veggie relleno was floating in a pool of salsa, which was good, but took away from the main component, the relleno. The veggie burrito was good and had just the right amount of heat.

Pricing:

Overall, we ended up paying about $45 for 3 entrees and waters. For the quality of food it was reasonable, but for quality of service and the quantity of food, it should have been a lot cheaper.

Overall:
I see that Salsa Fuego has a lot of potential, but if they expanded and had more staff, it would be a lot better. I give it an 89% rating, so basically a B+.
